Communication Skills for Collaboration and Finding Common Ground

Success isn’t just about talent or education—it’s about the ability to connect. In this interactive workshop, Laura and Barry McAlister will guide participants through practical tools to strengthen communication, collaboration, and influence. Blending John Maxwell’s leadership principles, DISC personality insights, and improv based “Yes And” techniques, this session equips leaders to:

• Recognize and adapt to different communication styles
• Build trust and collaboration through deep listening and idea-building
• Practice adaptability and engagement in real-time

With a mix of teaching, video examples, and hands-on exercises, participants will walk away with communication strategies they can immediately apply to foster stronger teams and deliver better results.

Participants will leave with practical tools to enhance communication, identifying DISC styles, and deep listening. Leaders are better equipped to build trust, resolve conflict, and create environments for collaborative problem solving.

At the conclusion of the session attendees will be able to:
